Welcome to the Greater Alabama Council

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, the Greater Alabama Council serves youth and adult volunteers in 20 counties in North & Central Alabama. We operate 5 camping properties, and have 2 offices. Our mission is to provide character development, citizenship training, and growth in physical, mental and spiritual fitness, to help create the next generation of leaders.

Scout Day – Saturday, Sept 24th
Alabama Sports Hall of Fame from 10am to 2pm. Free for all Scouts and their Families!  

Oct. Join us for fishing, fun, prizes, and a patch! Multiple dates and locations! Prizes for the Biggest Fish, Smallest Fish, & Ugliest Fish!

Oct. Ghosts and goblins are on the prowl! Join us for this fun overnight camping event pack with adventure!

Saturday, October 15th. Scouts will earn the Mining and Society Merit Badge and requirements for the American Labor and American Heritage Merit Badges.

Sept 24th & 25th at Canterbury UMC in Birmingham. Outdoor Adult Leader Training for Cub Scout & Scouts BSA Leaders.

Oct 15th at Huntsville UMC. Adult Leader Specific Training for all positions.

Saturday, November 12th at Camp Seqouyah. Fun-filled day on the ranges! Earn your Shooting Sports Award!

Held the second week of November. Scouts gather food in their community to help those who suffer from food insecurity

December 27-31. Registration is now open! Merit badges! Eagle bound! Climbing! Shooting! and much more!

January 14-16 & February 18-20
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is a training course that gives Scouts methods, skills and experiences to become better leaders in their unit.
