This annual training event for adult leaders from our entire council takes place in a festive atmosphere. Come for just the morning or all day, to focus on serious topics or just to have fun learning new skills! The University of Scouting offers more than 100 classes in 5 different “colleges,” with dozens of new classes each year. Sign up for anything that interests you, from Weird Science to Dutch Oven Cooking to Skits & Songs, and more! You will find training on topics not covered anywhere else at any other event in our council. Most classes are taught by volunteers who share not just their knowledge but their passion about their subject. We focus on topics you can take back to your unit and use right away; practical information that will help you improve your program or the organization itself.

In addition to University of Scouting the Greater Alabama Council offers a Merit Badge University in conjunction with this day of training. Scouts can take up to two merit badges during the day led by experienced instructors. Registration can be done by individual Scout or by unit for the Merit Badge University.
