How to Safelist GAC Emails

The Greater Alabama Council utilizes Constant Contact for its mass-email communications.  These communications include, among others, the “Digital Eagle” and “Cub Chatter” emails.  These monthly eNewsletters help keep our families, volunteers, and employees informed about program offerings, news, and updates from the Scouting world.  Despite our best efforts and intentions, sometimes these emails get filtered by email services like Gmail and Yahoo, and even some applications like Thunderbird and Outlook.  Please read on to find out how to make sure you are receiving the eNewsletters and District updates.

Signing up for emails

If you aren’t sure if you have signed up for any of the newsletters, please go to: https://bit.ly/GAC-stay-in-touch and select the options you wish to receive.  We recommend that at the very least you subscribe to the “Digital Eagle”, the main newsletter of the Council.  It is published monthly on the first Tuesday of the month at about two o’clock in the afternoon.

Email client settings

If emails from the Greater Alabama Council are not displaying properly, an easy solution is to check your email client to make sure that your settings enable images to display.  Here are some solutions from Constant Contact on how to get emails to display properly.

Safelisting

Safelisting is a bit more technical, but it is more thorough and will ensure that you receive any and all emails from the Greater Alabama Council.  You can click here for information on how to add Constant Contact URLs and IP Addresses to your email client’s safelist.
