Come join us at beautiful Comer Scout Reservation high atop Lookout Mountain for a day of hiking and celebrating the outdoors! The inaugural Thunderbird Trail Hike and Celebration will kick-off on Saturday, November 9, 2019 with on-site registration beginning at 8am, and the first, 25-person flight of hikers will hit the trail at 9am. Flights will leave the registration area approximately every thirty minutes with the last flight hitting the trail in the early afternoon. Registration is $5.00 per person, and this covers event patch and lunch for the first 100 participants.
There will be a healthy, light lunch provided, and camping for units or individuals is available. No other meals will be provided during the weekend. To camp, please contact the Birmingham Scout Office at 205-970-0251 to request a camp permit for the weekend.
This is a fantastic event for the whole family, and a must-do for all Scouts as the Thunderbird is one of the premiere Scout Camp trail systems in the Southeast. As an added bonus, early November is near peak time for fall foliage color changes, and Comer is nothing short of beautiful in early November!
