Camp Jackson Update:  Camp Jackson will reopen on a limited basis for weekend camping on May 17, 2013.  Capacity will be limited initially to 20-30 campers and then the number of campers wiill be expanded as conditions mature.  Facilities will be primitive.  There are construction and logging operation ongoing at the camp so there are still areas of the camp that are closed.  You will be directed to areas where camping is allowed.

Camp Use Permit procedures will apply.  Permits can be found on the Council website, www.1bsa.org (CLICK HERE for a permit)  or in either Service Center.

Thank you for your patience.  This has been a long and difficult process, and there is still much work to be done to get the camp fully operational.  This is the first step to having a premier camping facility again at Camp Jackson.

Camp Jackson is a 515-acre camp located 5 miles east of Scottsboro on Highway 40, just off Highway 35 on the Tennessee River at Jones Cove.  Currently Camp Jackson is used only for primitive camping. Recent improvements include restoring power and water to the shower buildings, and water and equipment to the dining hall.
