Help Camp Sequoyah Get A New Truck

Thanks to a wonderful Holiday Gift from the Aderholt Family Foundation, the new truck at Camp Sequoyah has been paid for!

Thank you to all of our donors that contributed for a much needed camp vehicle!

Dear Friend:

The Greater Alabama Council has worked to teach life skills and help each youth achieve their full potential for over 100 years. This has been accomplished through a partnership with community organizations and a commitment to delivering quality outdoor education programs. Over 13,000 young people experience the adventure of Scouting in north and central Alabama annually and over 2,500 campers learned leadership, teamwork, and life skills at one of our long-term summer camp programs this year. Some youth camped out for their first time while others learned first aid, survival and lifesaving skills. Approximately 50,000 meals were served in a camp setting and the program was delivered by 168 summer staff members who depend on the support of a full-time camp ranger.

I know, there are many worthy causes that you could support, and as a past staff member of Camp Sequoyah, I would appreciate your consideration of a one-time donation to help us purchase a “new” or “new to us” extended cab pick-up truck for Camp Sequoyah. Our current camp truck has reached the end of its life and we can no longer depend on it as the primary camp emergency vehicle. By donating directly to the Greater Alabama Council, you have my commitment that your gift will be maximized with 100% going towards a camp vehicle to benefit local Scouts.

If you are able and believe in this endeavor, I encourage you to make a personal donation of $75 – the cost of truck fuel for a week at Camp, $250 – 1% of the estimated $25,000 price tag for a “new” or “new to us” truck, $500 – 2% of the estimated $25,000 price tag for a truck or any amount that is meaningful to you. When you make your donation, please mark it for “Camp Seqouyah Truck Donation”. With your donation you can help us continue to Prepare even more Scouts For Life and especially to those Scouts who attend Camp Seqouyah. If you have already given this year, thank you for your support. You have made a difference!

If you have any additional comments, please contact me. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Thank you in advance for your kind generosity to Scouting and Camp Seqouyah.
