Don’t miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity by attending the 2017 National Jamboree July 19-28, 2017 at The Summit!  This incredible facility is the home to vast opportunities for extreme sports and adventure.  Aquatics, mountain hiking, climbing, zip lining, mountain biking, shooting sports, world-class arena shows, and patch trading will be among the many activities.  The Greater Alabama Council has two Troops and ¼ Crew allocated.  Only 36 youth slots are available in each Troop and ten total slots in the Crew.  Registration is now open by visiting bsajamboree.org and for other details about participation.

To be eligible to attend Scouts must have a current BSA membership with a Troop, be at least a First Class Scout, be age 12 or age 11 and completed the 6th grade but not reached their 18th birthday by July 19, 2017, be approved by their unit leader and the GAC, have appropriate parent/guardian online consent, participate in a pre-Jamboree training experience in the GAC, filed a BSA Health & Medical Record with the GAC within one year of the Jamboree, and pay the registration fee to attend.  Venturers must have the same qualifications but be age 14 but not yet 21 by the first day of the Jamboree.

The Scoutmasters are Matt Brown (South Troop) and Scott Dolloff (North Troop) and the Crew Advisor is Ted Heathcock.  Busses will depart from Birmingham and Huntsville on July 18, 2017 and return on July 28.

Fees to attend the Jamboree are an estimated $1,600.00 per person based on a full contingent.  A $100.00 non-refundable but transferrable deposit is due at registration.  Minimum payments of $250.00 per person are due on August 1, 2016 and November 1, 2016.  Minimum payments of $500.00 per person are due on March 1, 2017 and May 1, 2017.

The fees for the Greater Alabama Council contingent to attend the 2017 National Jamboree July 18-28 are $1,600.00 person.  Dates payments are due and minimum payments per date are below:

$100.00 non-refundable, but transferable, deposit is due upon registration.

$250.00 minimum due on or before August 1, 2016.

$250.00 minimum due on or before November 1, 2016.

$500.00 minimum due on or before March 1, 2017.

$500.00 minimum due on or before May 1, 2017.
